Embrace the shake. That’s what I took away from my first barre class. After two months of classes, only a few days a week, I was down 10 lbs without changing my diet. (Who, in their late 30’s, loses 10 pounds without changing their diet?!). I had six kids, a multimillion-dollar home-based business, a traveling husband who supported our worldwide organization, and we had just moved to a new state. I was completely overwhelmed and found myself struggling to get out of bed in the morning. So, I committed to getting up, getting dressed, and driving to a barre studio at least 3 times a week. At the beginning of my barre journey, barre was an emotional rescue. Barre was changing me mentally, physically, and emotionally. Check, check, and check.
So why am I helping to open Stiletto Barre Studios?
Because my passion for barre has grown into the desire to share its beauty, femininity, and unparalleled demand of mind and body connection. Because I get to be in business with my sister. Because I finally found something, other than my children and husband, that fuels a fire within me. I am here because I believe we should recognize and embrace the power within all of us. Diversity is our strength, acceptance is our gift, and divinity is our truth. This is me, realizing my truth and embracing my inner strength. The journey has just begun, and I can’t wait to see where it leads.
Are you ready to embrace the shake? See you at the barre!
